Creating a strong identity for a bistronomic restaurant in the city center
Le Comptoir Azur, a new bistronomic restaurant in the heart of Cannes, wanted an interior that matched its menu: generous, refined and rooted in its territory. The founders wanted a warm place where customers felt just as comfortable for a business lunch as for a dinner with friends. The challenge: to design an 85m² space capable of accommodating 45 seats without sacrificing comfort or acoustics.
The team came to the studio with a clear idea: a contemporary Mediterranean atmosphere, far from the cliches. They wanted to incorporate a natural stone bar as the centrepiece, custom benches to optimize space and lighting designed to create different atmospheres between lunch and evening service.
How did Ambiance Signature Collection come up with this project
Aesthetic bias
We imagined an interior that evokes the Mediterranean without ever falling into the literal. Sand and terracotta shades, raw natural stone, light oak wood and touches of brushed brass make up a warm and timeless palette. Each material was chosen for its texture as well as for its durability in the face of the requirements of a high-traffic area.
Space design
The plan has been redesigned to streamline the circulation between the room, the bar and the open kitchen. The arched benches adorn the walls and create intimate alcoves without partitioning the space. The travertine bar, positioned at the entrance, becomes the focal point of the place and naturally guides customers to their table.
Light and ambiance
Lighting plays a central role in the experience. Rattan pendants above the bar, brass wall lights for the benches, recessed spotlights on the periphery: each source has been designed to offer functional light at noon and a subdued atmosphere in the evening. Variators allow you to adjust the intensity according to the time of day.
